A Tip Toe Through the Tulips
April isthe month for Skagit Vally’s Annual Tulip Festival. DH and I decided on Sunday to take advantage of Easter and while people were spending time with their families, we snuck off to Tulip Town. This is just one of the many many tulip fields/farms in the north west corner of Washington, about an hour and a half north of Seattle and an hour South of the Canadian boarder.
I really did try and get some Project Spectrum colors together, but the fields/farmers simply didn’t co-operate, so here’s some yellow and green with a bit of pink in the distance.
This little guy decided to be a bit different than all his fellow tulips and showed up dressed for Project Spectrum.
Imagine this…more tulips.
And of course purple tulips, one of my favorite colors.
…and yet more tulips
When we bought my new camera we also picked up a 2 gig SD memory card. I actually have 377 pictures from the trip, most of them are tulips, but this is how I managed to get pictures without people. While it wasn’t packed, there were still quite a bit of people there, I have hundreds of shots with people. This trip served 2 purposes, one to play with my new toy and 2 because it’s been years since I’ve seen the Skagit Valley Tulip fields in bloom.
Just as we were getting ready to head out to the car, Washington weather kicked in, and the rain started to come down. We timed it all just perfectly and had a wonderful afternoon to boot.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love those tulips–great shots, too!

Those tulips are incredible. Yellow tulips are my absolute favorite flower. The purple ones give them a run for their money.
