Black hole knitting

I know I was going to take a break from knitting sweaters, but apparently I am not capable of NOT knitting sweaters.  OTN is ChildHood from the Knitty Summer ’03 issue. I’m knitting it for a 1yo, I’ll be visiting this weekend on my way back from the Black Sheep Gathering.  Sorry no pics of the WIP, but I’m telling you it’s a black hole, it must be soemthing with hoods and hoodie’s.  I finished the back, the front and both sleeves Sunday morning, and here it is Tuesday, the front bands are done, and about an inch and a half of the hood!  It’s starting to feel like no matter how much I knit on this hoodie it’s not going anywhere and I really do need to finish this, the baby just turned 1yo a few weeks ago, and I’ve neglected to stop by when I was in the neighborhood at least 4 times now.  They live outside Portland, and it’s not like I drove from CA to WA twice last year and once back in the other direction.  It’s not like I haven’t been to Portland and visited family and had time.  I’ve just not gone to see my friends and their baby yet.  What kind of knitter would I be if I showed up with an almost finished baby sweater, that may or may not see the light of day if I don’t finish it before I get there this weekend!

It’ll be OK. You can always finish it up in the hotel room but I think you’ll finish it in plenty of time before then.

That is such a cute sweater. What colors are you using and is it for a boy or girl?

Good luck finishing the mini-me hoodie. I have faith you’ll get it done in time.

And have a blast at Black Sheep!

It only feels like a black hole… all of a sudden you’ll count the rows, or measure that hood, and find you’ve done an extra couple of inches… Have a great time at BSG!!

Cute sweater. I know you’ll finish. Don’t forget you’re a speed demon when it comes to FOs. Nothing like a deadline to light a fire under you! ; )
