Yes, I know it’s been revealed all over the internets, but here’s my MS3, knittend and blocked and in all it’s finished glory. The theme, if you don’t already know is Swan Lake and the stole is assymetrical, with one side being a wing, representing the wing of a swan.

Pattern: Mystery Stole 3, Pink Lemon Twist will be making this pattern available for sale, but I’m not sure when it will be available.

Yarn: Zephyr – Ebony. I started with a 4 oz ball and have quite a bit left over, I’ll have to find the scale if you want to know the exact weight of what’s left, but I have read quite a few people have the better part of the 2nd 2oz ball left over when they had 2 2oz balls.

Needles: Options #4

Thoughts: I like the ide of asymmetry, but only in stoles, scarves, shawls, I personally don’t like asymmetrically sweaters. While there were many people that were turned off by the asymmetrical nature of this knit, I completely enjoyed it. I also did enjoy the nature of the clues revealing themselves piece by piece, though at times I did have a tendency to get impatient, but in getting the clues week by week, it left me enough time to knit on other things and still get this project done in a timely mannter. I will, (ok so I have already signed up for another one) do this again, it was a very enjoyable experience. While I’m not sure I like how the stole looks when it’s hanging down, DH couldn’t get a good pic of it, I do like how the wing drapes accross. This is for a person who is much smaller than me, so it’ll fit her with no problem. Check one off the list for Christmas.

I finished with Clue 6 over the weekend, and kept right on going onto clue 7 without taking any pics. Had I taken a pic what you would have seen is the same as clue 5, just with more rows done. I’m on track to finish it this weekend, while not quite the end of August, it’s close enough, MS3 should be on the blocking board by Sunday, Monday at the latest, baring any last minute plans for the Labor Day weekend.

I finally finished Clue5 on the MS3 shawl, the last clue (7) came out yesterday so Now I’m 2 clues behind, but there are no more coming out so at least I can’t fall further behind without ripping *knock on wood*

And there’s the twist, the pattern is asymmetrical. The theme is Swan Lake and the one end of the stole is a wing. I love the idea, though there are many who hate it, I’m not one of them. The only place I can’t stand asymmetry is in sweaters.

Since I’ve been asked if there were beads, while I had it outside I decided to take a close up. The beads don’t show up very well in the picture, but in person in the sun they are a sparkly lot. I’m using dark beads, so they kind of hide in the black. They are the kind that if you look at them from one angle they look purple, but change the angle and they look blue.

In other news, I finished Sahara….then I tried it on, and well it was a tad on the short side. I honestly have no desire to share my fat belly with the world, and no intention of getting a belly button piercing just to make the top look cute. so….rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppppp, out came the bottom hem (it’s a top down knit) and I’m adding a few inches to it.

Here’s what’s going with me to knit knite

Dad’s Golf Shirt – making progress 2 more inches and I’ll split for the placket

Sahara – I’m still only about 2? below the join, progress isn’t progressing as fast as when I was reading HP7, so we’ll see how long it takes.

2 scarves, yes I did say scarves. Not my usual fair, but I’m knitting some of my own handspun and don’t have enough for much more than scarves from these 2 skeins.

In other news:

MS3 stalled for a week, but I’m working on catching up, hopefully this weekend. I’m half way through the ginormous Clue 4, well at least it looks like half way through clue 4, so I’ll catch up before Clue 6…i think.

Clapotis has stalled along with all the socks I have OTN.

I did manage to get a little weaving in this week, so my weaving is no longer on the stalled list, but that’s not likely to last for long.

Spinning, yes I am spinning, learned Navajo plying last week, so I’ll have to get some pics posted of my latest handspun.

*note: I’m being lazy and really didn’t feel like linking anything today.

I finished Clue 2 last night while waiting for pieces Targhee Noah (it’s name is really Noel, but for what ever reason Noah is in my brain and I’m stuck on it now, so it’s been renamed to Noah) to soak, resoak and resoak. I did throw a small handful on the hand carders this morning on my way out the door, and am spinning a bit of Noah on my drop spindle today.

Oh wait, where was I….Oh yeah, MS3. I’m totally enjoying this knit, but I kind of wish I had more clue. I suppose I could wait until later in the week to start on the next clue, but I get so excited, it comes out as soon as I have the pattern printed, then I get to the end, and still have most of the week left to wait for the next clue.

It’s not really like I don’t have anything else to work on. So let’s just go down the list:

Knitting

1. Socks (SAM KAL – final month)

2. Socks (started for SAM KAL month 2, but were quickly replaced with another pair since I wasn’t getting anywhere with them)

3. Socks (BMFA pattern Grasshopper from STR Club – using Fixation)

4. Socks (Cookie A pattern from Scout’s Swag Sock club)

*Anyone else seeing what I’m seeing, socks seem to jump OTN, but they don’t seem to be jumping off *sigh*

5. Dad’s golf shirt, yes it’s out of retirement and I’m all of 13 inches up the front now, 5″ more and I split for the planket. Maybe this year…. what do you think?

6. Dragone Shawl (maybe I’ll finish in this life time)

7. Sahara

Spinning:

1. BMFA Merino Tensil on the Matchless

2. Capistrano Fiber arts BFL on the Lendrum

* See DH, I really did need that 2nd wheel, and it looks like I may need a couple more *wink*

3. Noah on a drop spindle

4. Silk hankies on a drop spindle.

5 Plying Romney…on a drop spindle.

Crochet

I saw this summer top I liked, so I’m trying to work out the pattern, it’s OTH.

Weaving

Yes I’m still working on the scarf that was on the Loom when I bought it.

Wow, that is a big list. Now I’m just dying to cast something else on…hmmm, maybe I should ball that Lucy I just spun up. I’m down to a few choices, Clapotis, Fibertrends Landscape Shawl, and there’s a pattern in the Summer IK that would work as well.
