DH has a true appreciation for fiber, everytime I bring something new home, he fondles and cuddles it like a true knitter.

I caught this pic of him and one skein of yarn on New Year’s day. Yes he really did try and keep the skein of yarn. He’s been known to do this not only with new yarn, but with fiber as well.

The yarn? Mirasol Miski, 100% Baby Llama.

So what’s on the needles now.

Well, I got a little carried away on New Year’s day and cast on not 1 but 2 sweaters, and Shedir. I’m also working slowly but steadily on the edging of the Wings of Fantasy Shawl I cast on forever ago. Earl Grey Socks, I’m almost to the heel of the first one. Still plugging away on Annemor # 16 from Selbuvotter. Cheri Amour has been pulled out of hibernation. Dad’s never ending golf shirt is again out of hibernation, hopefully I’ll finish it this year (I’m not kidding, I’m really going to try and finish it this year, and yes I know I’ve said it before, but this time <strike>I think</strike> I mean it). Oh and I’ve got some of my hand spun OTN, I’m knitting up the Flower Basket Shawl.

So it looks like I’m starting the New year with 9 active projects, I guess that really does make me a true ADD knitter.

Well there’s quite a bit of knitting going on at my house, and very little of anything else, but I’m making progress.

Of the 5 pairs of felted clogs, 1 pair is felted and 4 more are knitted and vying for a turn in the washing machine, it’ll probably all happen this weekend.

Progress on the 2 tometen jackets, the hood on the 2nd one is finished, which leaves me at 4 sleeves and 2 button bands, I supposed I’d better get knitting on those.

Celtic Tote fro IK, Back is completely done, front is half done, and I’ve started on the sides and the bottom.

The Jane Origami sweater…well that’s kind of being ignored, I really need to get that Celtic tote done so it can take it’s bath this weekend and have plenty of time to dry from it’s dunking.

Last Saturday, Libby, Christina, Christina’s Grandma (Sorry Grandma, I didn’t get a pic of you, but your pink afghan managed to sneak a toe in) and Libby’s son MHP, all met at Village Yarn and Tea to do some knitting, and even better I remembered not only to bring a camera, but to actually use it.

There’s Christina taking a picture of me taking a picture, not intentional, one or both of us were probably to busy laughing to notice, Libby and there is MHP playing with his cool little cars.

Another attempt at a picture from a different angle, and MHP decided to help, he was showing me one of his cars, it’s all good.

One last shot, we’re still laughing about MHP helping frame the pic, but there we are.

Village Yarn and Tea is a great place to knit, they have a seating area where we can enjoy tea nd chat and knit. Now when you need a break from knitting, temptation is close at hand. On the other side of those shelves full of tea goodness, is another seating area and shelves full of knitting books and patterns. and in the 2nd picture you can see some of the tempting yarny goodness just calling to you. Great place to sit and knit and visit, but the temptation is just a bit much. I know I left with more than I came with, I have 3 receipts to prove it. First trip was some roving, 2nd trip, I really needed stitch markers because I was casting on another sweater with eleventy bagillion sts, and the last trip, well it is a yarn store afterall….more about that in another post.

Got home from work Friday night and there was a pink notice on my door. Come to the USPS and pick up your package. Look what I found.

Ok, so there were 6 skeins, but only in 3 colors. Kuani yarn.

It didn’t take me long to wind 2 of those bad boys up into 2 ginormous yarn cakes, they barely fit on the normal ball winder, next time around, I bring out the big guns. Yes, that’s what I cast on Saturday afternoon, ripped and cast on again on Sunday Morning, my stitch count was off, even with the help of the markers.

As for last night, the Kuani Sweater was all I knit on Wed night, I have a feeling it will be occupying my attention for a while. No I haven’t fallen of the MS3 bandwagon, I’m just about half way through Clue 6 and still aiming to finish it this weekend.

Dad’s Golf Shirt - weee – a whole inch done in the last week, but I’m working on it, and it’s not being relegated to the land of time out.

Sahara – Hem is done, sleeves are done, working on the neck line, 2 rows out of 12 done there, so hopefully I’ll have an FO before the week is out.

The 2 scarves are down to 1. We went to the Seattle Street of Dreams this last weekend, and I got quite a bit done, a whole 10 inches, then discovered that while I was walking and knitting I somehow managed to turn my 31 stitch count into a 51 stitch count, so it got frogged, and I cast it back on, so there is an inch done on it now, but it’s sitting in time out. The other one is still a work in progress, I’ll finish it some day, but until then it’ll go with me to knitting so it doesn’t end up in time out.

Clapotis -still in time out in favor of finishing Sahara

MS3 is stalled near the end of clue 5, maybe this weekend I’ll finish clue 5 and start clue 6. Clue 7 (the final clue) is out this Friday, I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the month, we’ll see what happens.

Oh I fell off the wagon last night, no I wasn’t intentionally buying yarn, it just kind of happened that way, but I found a deal at Ben Franklin, they had Berroco Ultra Silk at 70% off, that’s $3.00 a ball people, how could I resist, of course I had to buy enough for a sweater. Ok, so I bought enough for a shrug too. I really do enjoy knitting with it. A few balls for Crystal Palace Shimmer followed me home at $2.00 a ball.

*note: I’m being lazy and really didn’t feel like linking anything today.

I finished Clue 2 last night while waiting for pieces Targhee Noah (it’s name is really Noel, but for what ever reason Noah is in my brain and I’m stuck on it now, so it’s been renamed to Noah) to soak, resoak and resoak. I did throw a small handful on the hand carders this morning on my way out the door, and am spinning a bit of Noah on my drop spindle today.

Oh wait, where was I….Oh yeah, MS3. I’m totally enjoying this knit, but I kind of wish I had more clue. I suppose I could wait until later in the week to start on the next clue, but I get so excited, it comes out as soon as I have the pattern printed, then I get to the end, and still have most of the week left to wait for the next clue.

It’s not really like I don’t have anything else to work on. So let’s just go down the list:

Knitting

1. Socks (SAM KAL – final month)

2. Socks (started for SAM KAL month 2, but were quickly replaced with another pair since I wasn’t getting anywhere with them)

3. Socks (BMFA pattern Grasshopper from STR Club – using Fixation)

4. Socks (Cookie A pattern from Scout’s Swag Sock club)

*Anyone else seeing what I’m seeing, socks seem to jump OTN, but they don’t seem to be jumping off *sigh*

5. Dad’s golf shirt, yes it’s out of retirement and I’m all of 13 inches up the front now, 5″ more and I split for the planket. Maybe this year…. what do you think?

6. Dragone Shawl (maybe I’ll finish in this life time)

7. Sahara

Spinning:

1. BMFA Merino Tensil on the Matchless

2. Capistrano Fiber arts BFL on the Lendrum

* See DH, I really did need that 2nd wheel, and it looks like I may need a couple more *wink*

3. Noah on a drop spindle

4. Silk hankies on a drop spindle.

5 Plying Romney…on a drop spindle.

Crochet

I saw this summer top I liked, so I’m trying to work out the pattern, it’s OTH.

Weaving

Yes I’m still working on the scarf that was on the Loom when I bought it.

Wow, that is a big list. Now I’m just dying to cast something else on…hmmm, maybe I should ball that Lucy I just spun up. I’m down to a few choices, Clapotis, Fibertrends Landscape Shawl, and there’s a pattern in the Summer IK that would work as well.
