Knit off update and other stuff
Just wanted to let you know I did make it to Round 2 of the Knit Off and that starts tomorrow. Current line up has 16 knitters, 8 groups of 2, first one done goes to Round 3. Pattern will be posted sometime in the middle of the night, so I’ll be knitting first thing in the morning.
The question was raised as to which Dale sweater I’ll be knitting, It’s pattern #3016 - Berge. In all likely hood it won’t get cast on until the end of April, early May, it’ll be ready for next fall/winter.
It will be my 6th sweater this year, so I will have reached my personal goal of 6 sweaters this year (if you’re wondering you didn’t miss an announcement, I didn’t want to make that goal public for fear of invoking the sweater curse that was bestowed on a fellow knitter/friend last year, she set the same goal and fell far far short of it, and I believe it’s because she announced that she was going to do it)Â I’m just a bit superstitious.
In other news, I’m living in a construction zone. When we bought this townhouse we knew that the roof tiles and siding were going to be replaced, at some point in the near future. Well the near future has arrived to our building, we’re under construction. The cats are beside themselves, they are more skitty than usual and I’m spinning up a storm. Sorry I didn’t get pics of the Sheep to Shoe yarn while it was in skein and dry, some how it managed to jump on the swift and snake it’s way over to the ball winder before my camera could make it’s presence known. It’s on and off the needle at this moment while I figure out the best gauge and needles for this yarn, it’s looking more and more like a sportsweight and will likely be knit up on #6’s into a lovely pair of house socks.
The sleeves for DH’s sweater were up to 6″ when I ended up ripping both sleeves back last night, for some reason the KFB was leaving holes, very unusual if you ask me, I’m using Cascade 220 and it’s never done that before. I’m back where I was at 6″ and the bar increases are working just fine. I’m still puzzled by the KFB leaving holes, so if you have any ideas as to why it would do that in this case I’m open to them, otherwise I’m just going to accept that the Knitting Goddess has decided to humble me and throw me a curve ball.

Goddesses tend to be very jealous of humans who come close to their skills! Let’s hope this was just a random shot to make sure you respect her properly!
