Newness
I’ve officially been back to work for 3 days now. I got a call Tuesday morning, my background check was done the prior Wednesday, but due to a glitch in the software, no one could see that is was done and clean. So Tuesday, my recruiter called me, and told me I was all clear to go to work. My on site manager had asked if I could go pick up my badge, so off to the Main Campus I went. Picked up my badge, gave DH a call and we went to lunch since he works less than a mile from the Main Campus.
I’ve decided I like my boss, he’s always busy, but never to busy to take the time to answer a question or show me how to do something. I like my job too, it will be getting more and more challenging as time goes on, since this position hasn’t existed in this group in the past, but is something that they would like going forward, there will be quite a few challenges to get some processes in place. It should be fun.
DH and I went out and picked up a camera, a Nikko D80 for me, last night. I lurve it.
Look a pic of DH taken with the telephoto lens from across a dark room. Had to play with it.
DH and I went for a drive, any guesses as to what this pic is of?
Ok, I’ll tell. We were driving down the freeway, so I decided to open up my shutter and see what would happen. These are just random lights on the freeway, dancing with how the car was moving. I really like this picture.
We went to West Seattle, to take pics of the Seattle Skyline at night. I really do need to get a tripod now. This one, while a bit fuzzy, is the steadiest of the shots I got last night of Seattle. The rest were a bit jumpy, it was cool out and i was shaking.
Posting and knitting will be more erratic until I get used to this work thing again. I still need to finish DH’s sweater, just need to sew the sleeves on, I’ll probably do that today or tomorrow, but like Knit Devil I don’t really like finishing work. Still plugging away at Eris, a pair of socks for the SAM KAL April Sock, the Domino scarf from last weekend’s class.
Oh, I did win my round 3 for the Knit off. I was going to back out, but Nona who I’ll be knitting agaings agreed to move our start date to Sunday afternoon. See our Anniversary is the same weekend that Round 4 starts and DH and I are going away for 2 nights and 3 days, just a small trip, but with Round 4 starting on that Saturday, there was no way I was going to be able to knit starting Saturday morning, since I wouldn’t have access to the pattern much less the time or desire to knit the day away. Nona came up with a way I could still go on, and we’re both on the honor system with each other to start no earlier than 4 pm PST Sunday. Where does this put me in the Knit Off, I made it to the top 4. Next round of elimination is to get us down to the top 2, then the final after that. I still can’t believe I made it this far.

I’m glad you liking the new job! Cool camera. That will be a lot of fun to play with. Happy anniversary! I hope you and DH are having a fantastic weekend.

Wow, lots of new learning curves to master! Hope you get D-man’s sweater done so he can wear it on your Big Weekend Away!

Life sounds like it’s really good right now - new job, new camera, new friends - which is totally great. Happy anniversary! And congrats to making the final 4. I knew you would. And kick Nona’s ass. (hah - sorry, couldn’t help myself)
