Still Slogging along

I finally finished Clue5 on the MS3 shawl, the last clue (7) came out yesterday so Now I’m 2 clues behind, but there are no more coming out so at least I can’t fall further behind without ripping *knock on wood*

And there’s the twist, the pattern is asymmetrical.  The theme is Swan Lake and the one end of the stole is a wing.  I love the idea, though there are many who hate it, I’m not one of them.  The only place I can’t stand asymmetry is in sweaters.

Since I’ve been asked if there were beads, while I had it outside I decided to take a close up.  The beads don’t show up very well in the picture, but in person in the sun they are a sparkly lot.  I’m using dark beads, so they kind of hide in the black.  They are the kind that if you look at them from one angle they look purple, but change the angle and they look blue.

In other news, I finished Sahara….then I tried it on, and well it was a tad on the short side.  I honestly have no desire to share my fat belly with the world, and no intention of getting a belly button piercing just to make the top look cute.  so….rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppppp, out came the bottom hem (it’s a top down knit) and I’m adding a few inches to it.

Kudos to you for sticking with it, and so far it looks good! I’m anxious to see how the wing looks when it’s all knit and blocked. I bet the beads look fabulous!

Oooh - I see the beads! I love understated beadage, and think your MS3 looks quite lovely. Still think the wing’s freaky, though I kinda like the idea of symmetrical wings in a Wings of Desire kinda way. Kudos for your sticktoitness!

Your wing part looks very nice. I’m still on the fence as to whether I’m going to continue. Ha… remember when I was the big enabler getting everybody to sign up? Guess I better shut up now. :o

It must be the time for extending the length of sweaters. I’m adding 2″ of corrugated ribbing to alex’s sweater so it’ll be long enough (and hopefully the ribbing won’t look stupid). I also had to buy more yarn!!!
