Sweater #6 and a swatch

dsc_0001.JPG

Pattern: Eris by The Girl From Auntie

Yarn: Cascade Cloud 9 (50% merino/50% Angora)

Needles: Options #4 and 6

This yarn is  a delight to work with, it’s soft, a little on the fuzzy size, but what do you expect, it’s angora.  Splicing this yarn is great, it spit spices wonderfully without any moisture at all.  Do be careful if you use this yarn, I found the dangling ends had a tendency to felt themselves together.  The pattern isn’t nearly as indimidating as the 40 some odd pages would make it seem.  The pattern includes instructions for both a pull over and a cardi, and the charts are different for both, hence the large number of pages. I am already considering knitting this sweater again, next time with less fuzzy yarn and a lighter color to bring out the wonderful cable work, it hides in the black and the fuzz.

Yes this little sweater is complete, it’s a swatch for my Dale, which likely won’t get knit until after this summer, but I thought I’d share, it’s complete with steeks.  Those aren’t as scary as they sound, if fact I rather like steeks.

This concludes this sweater making phase of my knitting year, 6 sweaters 6 months, my original goal was to knit 6 sweaters this year.   So what’s next on the needles, well I finally started the Heere Be Dragone shawl, only to find my mind blown when I got to row 31 and the Horizontal Stitch.  An hour later and a swatch that had been ripped out a dozen times, I finally managed to wrap my brain around the stitch.  This will be a challenging knit, and it’s going to take me a while to finish.

I have yarn and beads for a Mystery Stole 3 KAL that DimSum brought to my attention, Pink Lemon Twist is hosting, so far Mehitable, Madgik are in too.  Join us if you’ve a mind to, looks like a summer of lace for this knitter.

Ooooh, I like the Eris sweater. I have some Black Water Abbey that I’m in search of a pattern for. Definitely a possibility. That tiny Dale sweater is too cute!
