Weekend catch up
Another Bagsket, with a single handle, inspired yet again by Suzanne. In case you haven’t checked it out, here’s the tutorial on how you to can make one of your own. It’s really quick.

One modification I did make to this is the top panel, I used my whack and stack ruler to cut angled pieces, then sewed them all together unevenly of course, then cut the final strip down to size. I also used a satin stitch between the strip and the solid black of the bottom stich, and I sued variegated quilting thread throughout. Because I was to lazy to wind bobbins, not at all difficult with my machine, I was just lazy, there are at least 3 different variegated threads from 4 different bobbins, they kept running out, because I was using left overs from quilts I have sewn.
I cut the pieces late Thursday night, sewed the outside Friday night and finished it Saturday morning, before heading out to In Spa with Mom. It was a combination Mother’s day (GC from baby bro and I) and Bday present (her to me).
After that, I meandered up to Coupeville WA to help my MIL move to their new home in Oak Harbor. Look what came home, courtesy of my MIL.

DH and are are going to either refinish it or just oil it down, but it’s going to be my sewing table. MIL saw that I liked it and sent it home with DH specifically for me. I love that it has a table, there are legs that pop down when the table pops up, so it will be perfect for quilting on, and as a cutting table. I don’t have to use the dining room table anymore :).
On Sunday, Sachi made a trip over and we met up with Christina and Libby at the Seattle Center for some spinning an knitting.

Sachi on the phone with Christina, she needed a little guidance to find us.

Sachi on the wheel, and Christina was knitting socks. That’s my Lendrum sitting there without her spinner.
Libby joined us for a bit, but she had Mr. Man and the kids with her, they got a bit bored and so she didn’t stay for very long.
It was a fun afternoon, I got a lot of spinning done. We fielded a lot of questions, and there were quite a few people who came over and just stared over my shoulder and didn’t say a thing. We even had a few people ask to take our pic. I’ll post next time we do this again, we won’t bite and we will welcome you. There was even one lady who asked how often we meet, she wants to join us next time. Sachi has a few more pics (and I’m even in one) if you want to go check it out. I’m sure Libby and Christina have pics, but so far I haven’t seen them posted yet.
That was my weekend, now that I write about it, I guess I did have a busy weekend.

Wow! Furniture from MIL specifically for you. Did I just see a pig fly?
Glad it’s all good. Looks like spinning in the park was fun.

Busy but fun weekend! And here I thought it was an earthquake, but it was just your MIL’s attitude readjusting! Hmmm… I think I will have to come join you next time you have a spin-out!

I need to make myself a Bagsket or two now. Of course I’m blaming you if I do that instead of other stuff I’m supposed to be getting taken care of this week.

Okay, now I apparently need to learn how to sew. I love that thingy you made.
Mr. Man invited himself along for some reason. I think he knew it was going to be hot

You know that feeling you get when you see a picture that was taken of you when you didn’t know that someone was taking a picture? ….. yeah.
